About Us

Daniel Butler, Owner When Dan first hitched a ride to Squamish in 1986 he took one look at the mountains and was hooked. Since then, Dan has spent much of his time climbing trad and alpine in areas like the Hindu Kush, the Pyrenees, the French Alps, the High Tatras, the Adirondacks, the Rockies, and, of course, right here in Squamish. Dan is happy to call Squamish home and looks forward to helping climbers get climbing.

Climb On's Services
Climb On is Squamish's climbing shop, locally owned and operated since 1993. This place is a climber's dream: from the boulders to the alpine, we have the gear that you need.

We have it all: climbing shoes, harnesses, carabiners, chalk, tons of rock protection, haul bags, portaledges, crash pads, ropes, packs, aid gear, ice tools, webbing, headlamps, helmets, bolts, guide books, magazines, and a whole lot more. If you need something for climbing we have it.

We stock the best names in climbing: Black Diamond, Metolious, CCH, Petzl, Mammut, La Sportiva, Edelweiss, Five Ten, New England Ropes, Evolv, Trango, Omega Pacific, Wild Country, plus many other top brands. Along with climbing equipment we also carry a wide range of clothing featuring locally owned Blurr, Verve, Mammut, and others.

Along with selling new gear, we also have a good rental selection of climbing shoes, harnesses, XL size crashpads, helmets, and chalk bags. In the winter, we rent out ice crampons (trekking and technical), ice axes, helmets, and avalanche packages (probe, shovel, and beacon).

Other services include resole, cam repair, new route book, special orders, and a combined 20+ years of local beta.
